How to track your net worth and why you should be doing it

For the past three years I’ve diligently kept a log of my net worth that gets updated every week.  I can remember one week before I had started this habit, logging in to check my transaction account, and finding it overdrawn.  I had let my expenses get out of hand and was effectively burying my head in the sand.

I decided things needed to change and begun a written log of my net worth.  A weekly snapshot of my finances.

Why you should be trading Stock CFDs

Contract for Difference or CFD allows you to speculate on the movement of an underlying asset.  What does that mean?  You can trade stocks without having to own the actual stock.  I wanted to explain some of the advantages and disadvantages of CFD trading and why I think it’s a great way to make money online.

Low  Fees

This all depends on the broker you use, but many won’t charge any commissions.  For example, on etoro if you open a buy position on a stock, with no leverage, the CFD is fee to hold.  Short and leveraged positions will incur a fee.

How to invest in Bitcoin CFDs

The price of bitcoin is currently surging.  So now may be the perfect time to get started investing in Bitcoin.  And the best way to make money in Bitcoin is through CFDs.

A CFD allows you to trade the underlying asset (in this case bitcoin) without having to actually take delivery of it.  And here is why I think that it’s much easier to invest with a CFD as opposed to actually buying bitcoin: Continue reading

2017 Guide to taking control of your Finances

Money2017 is here.   At the beginning of each year, I like to do a sort of stocktake, where I look at my current financial situation and figure out what is working and what I can do better.    It’s important to not bury your head in the sand and let things get out of hand.

So this year, spend a little time getting your finances in order – it’ll really pay off over the coming year.

Making money with Acorns – November Update

Acorns investing spare changeSo I missed a month in sharing how I was going with my savings side project.  November was a busy month and I didn’t have much time to write.  But enough with the excuses, here is how I went.

For those who don’t know, Acorns is a little app that will transfer money from your bank account into an investment account automatically.  It rounds up your purchases to the nearest dollar and transfers this amount into the account.  So the more you spend the more you’ll invest.  I like how it just works magically in the background and I don’t need to do anything.

How will the U.S election effect the Peso

Are you planning on trading the U.S election?   The USDMXN pair is highly effected by the u.s election, so no matter what happens, there is going to be movement.  During September the currency was pushed to an all time low, but with Clinton looking more likely the victor the Peso has begun to recover.  If Trump gets elected it’s reasonable to expect the Peso will drop.  A Clinton presidency should be a positive fundamental signal.

How I made Twitter useful again

I didn’t really use Twitter that much.  My account posted the odd thing here and and there and and every  tweet was almost exclusively a link to this website.  And I found I wasn’t really enjoying it.  But I knew there had to be more to Twitter.  There was a community here, and I just need to find it.

Here are some steps I took to taking control of my Twitter account and how I started finding a use for the platform.

Be more successful by changing your morning routine

Morning RoutineA few months ago I was reading about the various morning routines that successful people had.  And I decided I would commit to a new and improved morning routine for 1 month and see how it worked out.  This meant waking up earlier, cutting out certain distractions and taking on new activities.  Here is how it went… Continue reading

The Aussie Method is a Scam

Aussie Method is a ScamI’m sick of seeing it to be honest.  It pops up (literally) all over the place.  Usually with an annoying video.  And sadly there are a ton of people who are falling for this crap.   Continue reading

The laziest way to make money online

make money with surveysI was thinking today about what would be the easiest and laziest way to make money online.  It would need to be some method that didn’t require much creativity or effort and that could be used by anyone, no matter their experience.
